Week 15 - 42.59

I crossed into Illinois this week and reach about Newman, Douglas County, Illinois.  Not farm from Newman are the Rockome Gardens in Arcola, IL.  Started with the desire to have the largest flower garden in Douglas County, development of the gardens has been underway since 1937.  For a video presentation of what you may see at the gardens, go to http://illinoishomepage.net/fulltext?nxd_id=254187 .  In addition to the gardens, this area has Rockome Restaraunt, Rockome Garden Foods and Cheese Factory, an Amish Museum, Antique Barn Mall and more (complete list and hours at http://www.rockome.com/attractions.shtml).  Take a weekend and visit - you'll be glad you did.
