Ginger Cookies - Alda Jane Low

This recipe for ginger cookies from my grandmother and is very similar to the recipe from Hubby's grandmother for molasses cookies.  Oddly enough, Hubby doesn't like ginger, so he only tastes ginger.  I taste very little ginger because of the molasses.  To each his own.  The recipe below is exactly as I received it, so I offer the following:  Large Egg, all purpose flour, bake for 10 - 12 minutes.



  1 Cup Shortening                                                      1 Cup Sugar
  1 Tsp Salt                                                                 1 Egg, Well Beaten
  1 Tsp Soda                                                               1 Cup Molasses
  1 Tsp Cinnamon                                                       1/4 Cup Sour Milk
  1 Tsp Ginger                                                            4 Cup Flour

Mix and bake in 350 degree oven
