Day of Driving - well worth it
Driving across Hawaii on Saddle road was an experience. You see almost all the topography that this island has (watch out for goats - a huge herd ran across the road in front of us). Through changes in elevation of 3000+ feet, we had 25 degree shifts in temperature and amazing shifts in weather - rain/no rain/rain/no rain/ FOG. The word WOW came out of our mouths many times. The day's travels took us to a Green Sand Beach at Mohano Bay, the Southernmost point of the United States (thanks to iPhone Man, we learned that there are less than 6 degrees of separation between this point and the southernmost point in the Continental United States) and a black sand beach complete with sea turtles.
