Anything is good, in moderation. I cook because I love to and because I can share with those around me. I crochet for the same reason.

Do what you want to do, enjoy what you do and use it to touch those around you.

Old Fashioned Casserole

Although named Old Fashioned, this casserole could just as easily be called a kitchen sink casserole.  Don't have ground beef?  Use sausage.  Have broccoli but no peppers?  No problem.  Have some fresh tomatoes?  Dice them up and add them, too.  Want to mix Parmesan into the bread crumbs?  Have at it.  I use this casserole when I have vegetables are getting a little too soft to serve without cooking but are still good and flavorful with a little love.  Don't want to heat your kitchen?  Throw this in a slow cooker and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours or low for 8 to 9 hours.

1 Lb Hamburger, Browned And Drained                             1/2 Tsp Pepper
3 Cups Potatoes, Sliced                                                      1/2 Cup Green Pepper, Diced
1/2 Cup Celery, Chopped                                                   30 Ounce Diced Tomatoes
1 Cups Green Beans                                                         1 Cup Bread Crumbs
1 Tsp Salt                                                                         2 TB Butter, Melted

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 2 quart casserole dish and set aside.

Mix together all ingredients except the bread crumbs and butter.  Pour into the casserole dish.  Mix together the butter and bread  crumbs, sprinkle on the casserole.  Bake for two hours or until the potatoes are soft.
