Anything is good, in moderation. I cook because I love to and because I can share with those around me. I crochet for the same reason.

Do what you want to do, enjoy what you do and use it to touch those around you.

Pear Salad

This salad makes a great lunch and puts the focus on pears.  You can use any type of pears and, if you prefer, peel them.  This is a single serving, if served for a lunch, or can be divided into two or three for a dinner salad.  If Pecans aren't for you, use walnuts.  Dried cranberries add a nice flavor, as well.  The nutrition given is for the entire salad.

2 Tsp Cider Vinegar                                                       2 TB Cheddar, Shredded
2 Tsp Honey                                                                  2 TB Pecans, Toasted
3/4 Cup Pears, Diced                                                     2 Cups Romaine Lettuce, Shredded

Wash and spin the lettuce, shred it into a bowl,  set aside.  Toast and dice the pecans and put over the lettuce.  Peel, core and dice the pears to equal about 3/4 cup, add to the lettuce.  Mix together the vinegar and honey with a pinch of salt, pour over the salad and top with cheese.
