Anything is good, in moderation. I cook because I love to and because I can share with those around me. I crochet for the same reason.

Do what you want to do, enjoy what you do and use it to touch those around you.

Potatoes and Green Beans

One last batch of beans from the CSA last week - I don't expect to get more.  Combined with fresh red skinned potatoes, garlic, butter, salt and pepper.  Great side dish or, if you don't feel like doing anything but reheating, lunch of leftovers.

1 Tbl Salt                                                                    2 Clove Garlic, Minced
1 Tsp Sugar                                                                 3 Tbl Salted Butter
3 Cups Red Potatoes, Cubed                                        Salt, To Taste
4 Cups Green Beans                                                    Pepper, To Taste

Bring water, salt and sugar to a boil.  Add the potatoes and, when half cooked, add the beans.  The beans should cook for about 7 minutes.  Pour into a colander when done, return the pan to the stove and add butter.  When butter is melted, soften the minced garlic until fragrant and then remove from heat.  Pour beans and potatoes back into the pan and stir until well coated.  Add salt and pepper.
